Step 1: Take the time to research your subject.

It hurts when you put in a ton of effort only to find no one is even interested.

The first step is finding a niche that suits your interests and passions. A niche that has lots of people looking for information.

The video below explains how to do easy research to make sure your not blogging to a tiny audience.

Step 2: Your domain and web hosting

Once you have a niche, you’re ready to get a domain name that is relevant and memorable. You should start by getting both the domain name and hosting together - this can be done for under $20.

If you already own a website, the blog can be in a subdirectory of your site (www.mysite.com/blog) or set up as a subdonain (blog.mysite.com). Either works.

Installing the Wordpress platform on to your web host is relatively easy… most web hosts have it as a automatic install. Instructions are easy to follow.

I chose GoDaddy - it offers a painless way to get your blog started, along with a low price for your domain name and hosting.
